For my mom’s 45th birthday, we decided to go for a Hanami. Hanami is a Japanese traditional custom of sakura (cherry blossom) viewing. From the end of March to early May, sakura bloom all over Japan, and since my mom’s birthday is on the 25th of March, it was the perfect time to go see the flowers.

This girl has got to be the cutest kid that exists in Japan.

My beautiful mom.

As we were walking on our way home, I noticed that a sakura petal had landed on my sister’s head. Fun fact: the speed at which sakura petals fall is 5 centimeters per second.
