Gossip Girl Museum

As soon as I was made aware that there was a Gossip Girl Museum being held at Studio Alta in Shinjuku, I immediately googled the details. They only held the event for six days (from May 7th to the 13th) and I was lucky enough to find out about the museum on the day before their last day. Being the Gossip Girl fan that I am, I visited the museum without hesitation and tagged my sister along with me. Finishing six seasons of Gossip Girl during my winter break (which was only a month, mind you) wasn't a waste of a vacation after all.

They held this event to commemorate the airing of the final season of Gossip Girl here in Japan.

Season 5 Episode 11 "The End of The Affair?"
Jacket: McQ by Alexander McQueen
Top: Alice + Olivia
Skirt: Red Valentino

This was during the time when Blair was preoccupied by her Royal Wedding preparations, and was avoiding Chuck after their car accident.

Season 4 Episode 8 "Juliet Doesn't Live Here Anymore"
Jacket: Tibi
Sweater: Vena Cava
Skirt: Of Two Minds

Serena wore this outfit on the day that Dan spotted her getting in a cab with Colin, her professor.

With the striped blazer and a boutonnière, this outfit is pretty evident as to whom it was worn by: Chuck Bass.

Season 3 Episode 15 "The Sixteen Year Old Virgin"
Dress: Dries van Noten

The dress that Lily wore to the gallery that the New-York Historical Society dedicated to Bart Bass.

Season 2 Episode 2 "Never Been Marcused"
Dress: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Blair's so-called annual "Welcome Back to the City" party was to be held to make her British boyfriend, Marcus, think that she's worthy of meeting his family. She wore this dress while she took care of the last minute preparations for the party.

Season 1 Episode 5 "Dare Devil"
Coat: Milly
Dress: Jasmine Di Milo
Shoes: Guess

I instantly remembered which episode of which season this outfit is from as soon as I noticed it from across the room. Jenny wore this when she was invited to Blair Waldorf's annual sleepover, and poor Little J found herself in a high stakes game of "Truth or Dare."

Season 1 Episode 18 "Much 'I Do' About Nothing"
Dress: Bettie Page Clothing
Shoes: Yves Saint Laurent
Hat: Eric Javits
Scarf: Luciano Soprani
Gloves: Carolina Amato

Blair was going to spend her summer in France with her father, but before that, she was planning to stop by Tuscania with Chuck for a week. Although that didn't go as planned.

Season 6 Episode 10 "New York, I Love You XOXO"
Sweater: (no label)
Shirt: J.Crew
Pants: Theory
Shoes: Aston Grey

The outfit worn by Nate Archibald in the scene where they flash back to when Dan first met Serena. Ahh, Gossip Girl's high school days.

Season 6 Episode 9 "The Revengers"
Dress: Emilio Pucci

In the episode where Blair devised a plan with the help of Serena, Georgina, Sage and Ivy to get what they need out of Bart, Serena wore this lace-trimmed dress.

Season 5 Episode 23 "The Fugitives"
Sweater: Tess Giberson
Skirt: IRO

Blair was torn between spending the summer in Rome with Dan or staying in New York for Chuck. Serena sported this outfit while she helped Blair decide.

Season 6 Episode 10 "New York, I Love You XOXO"
Coat: Neil Barrett
Jacket: Topman
Sweater: John Varvatos
Pants: Acne Studios

Dan wore this outfit when him, Serena, Nate, Lily, Georgina and a few other Gossip Girl characters were called to the MET Museum by Blair to announce her wedding with Chuck!

Season 4 Episode 20 "The Princesses and The Frog"
Jacket: Ever
Shirt: Steven Alan
Pants: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Another one from Dan! This was during the time he was spending an awful lot of time with Ivy (a.ka. Charlie's impostor). I hated them together.

Season 2 Episode 1 "Summer, Kind of Wonderful"
Dress: (no label)
Shoes: Lulu Guinness

"Damn that mother-Chuck-er!" Blair had this outfit on in the scene where she said that infamous line.

Season 2 Episode 6 "New Haven Can Wait"
Sweater: Banana Republic
Shirt: Theory
Pants: Banana Republic
Necktie: Banana Republic

The weekend when Nate paid Yale University a visit... under the name of Dan Humphrey.

Season 1 Episode 1 "Pilot"
Dress: Abaeté

Jenny Humphrey, invited to a party for the first time in her life by Blair Waldorf. This calls for a fashion emergency. Good thing Serena was in the same mall at that time. Serena believed that the dress would look better in black, which I couldn't agree more.

Written over the course of the series' first four seasons, Dan Humphrey's Inside is a fictional retelling of the lives of him and his friends.

Blair's wedding vows to exchange with Louis. Written by our one and only Dan Humphrey. So tragic. :(

I also want a love like Blair and Chuck. I mean, who doesn't?

Chuck's wallet and the contents of it along with his bloodstains when was shot in Prague trying to put up a fight against the two robbers that stole the engagement ring he bought for Blair.

Jenny Humphrey's portfolio...

...and her sketchbook.

It's the Polaroid pictures of the Gossip Girl characters from their game of Assassin at Nate's surprise birthday party!

It's basically a chart saying that almost everyone has slept with almost everyone else, lol.

I'm sure everyone knows which scene this dress is from. "The best friend and the boyfriend. Pretty classy, S." Ring a bell? It's from that scene, or should I say flashback, when Nate and Serena slept together the night before she left.

The event is also holding a contest and one lucky winner gets to own this dress not only worn by Blake Lively, but also touched by Chace Crawford in many ways possible.

No regrets at all about rushing to Shinjuku for the Gossip Girl Museum. As an avid Gossip Girl fan and New York City lover that I am, I wish the series would come back. But until that happens (which of course it won't), all I can do is re-watch the whole series and point out the Gossip Girl spots that I have visited during my trip to New York City. Clearly, I'm still going through New York City withdrawals.
